Applications

One process. Eight industries.

Ultrasonic technology assembles, seals and cuts across most of modern manufacturing. Here's where Rinco equipment earns its keep — and what it typically does there.

Ultrasonic welding in automotiveIND-01

Automotive

Lighter vehicles need more plastics — and ultrasonic welding is how interior, electrical and under-bonnet components are assembled at line speed.

Vehicle manufacturers keep replacing metal with engineering thermoplastics: it frees up design, cuts weight and extends component life. Every one of those plastic assemblies needs joining, and ultrasonic welding does it in under a second with no adhesives, screws or consumables.

Rinco equipment welds instrument panels, door trims, air ducts, sensors, lamp housings and cable assemblies. Servo-driven Electrical Motion presses give the process control and traceability that automotive quality systems demand, while special actuators integrate directly into automation lines.

Typical applications

  • Interior trim and instrument panels
  • Sensor and connector assembly
  • Lamp and mirror housings
  • Air ducts and fluid reservoirs
  • Wire harness staking and cut-off
Ultrasonic welding in medicalIND-02

Medical

Particulate-free, adhesive-free joining with full process traceability — ultrasonic welding is the standard for single-use medical device assembly.

Medical device manufacture demands clean, repeatable, validated processes. Ultrasonic welding joins filters, housings, luers, blood sets and wearable devices without adhesives or solvents — nothing added, nothing to cure, nothing to contaminate.

Rinco's Electrical Motion series was built for this work: servo-controlled force and amplitude profiles, ten-step weld programs, audit-trail data capture and PLe safety. Techspan supports IQ/OQ documentation and applications trials for New Zealand device manufacturers.

Typical applications

  • IV components, luers and filter housings
  • Blood and fluid delivery sets
  • Wearable and diagnostic devices
  • Non-woven mask and gown welding
  • Textile cutting for wound care
Ultrasonic welding in packagingIND-03

Packaging

Seal through product contamination, cut film cleanly and close blister packs without glue — ultrasonics solves packaging problems heat can't.

Ultrasonic sealing works from the inside out: energy is delivered directly to the joint, so seals form reliably even through liquid splash or powder contamination in the seal area. Cycle times are short, energy use is a fraction of heat sealing, and there are no heated jaws to manage.

From ABW blister welders to cutting and sealing heads for form-fill-seal lines, Rinco covers carton spouts, tubes, pouches, clamshells and tamper-evident closures.

Typical applications

  • Blister and clamshell closing
  • Pouch and sachet sealing
  • Tube sealing
  • Carton spout welding
  • Film cutting and slitting
Ultrasonic welding in textilesIND-04

Textiles

Cut and seal synthetic fabrics in one pass — no fraying, no stitching, no adhesive lines.

Ultrasonic cutting slices synthetic textiles with a vibrating blade that melts and seals the cut edge as it goes. No fraying, no loose threads, and no consumables. Continuous ultrasonic welding replaces stitching and gluing for waterproof seams, quilting and trims.

Rinco cutting stations, hand cutters and integration heads handle apparel, outdoor gear, automotive textiles, filtration media and technical non-wovens.

Typical applications

  • Edge-sealed cutting of synthetic fabrics
  • Non-woven welding and slitting
  • Filter media assembly
  • Ribbon, strap and webbing cut-off
  • Quilting and embossing
Ultrasonic welding in food processingIND-05

Food Processing

Portion-perfect cutting of cakes, cheese and bars — clean blades, clean cuts, less waste.

An ultrasonically vibrating blade cuts sticky, layered and delicate foods with almost no deformation or drag. Product doesn't stick to the blade, slices stay presentation-perfect, and washdown-ready tooling keeps hygiene simple.

Typical installations cut gateaux, cheesecake, slice bars, nougat, cheese and fresh or frozen product — hand-guided with the HC35 or fully automated with CS35-based cutting stations.

Typical applications

  • Cake, gateau and dessert portioning
  • Cheese cutting
  • Muesli and confectionery bars
  • Fresh and frozen bakery product
  • Industrial portioning lines
Ultrasonic welding in hi-tech & electronicsIND-06

Hi-Tech & Electronics

Precise, low-stress joining for electronics enclosures, cable management and delicate assemblies.

Electronic assemblies need joints that are strong, precise and gentle on the components inside. Ultrasonic welding delivers targeted energy for fast, flux-free joining of housings, staking of PCBs and encapsulation of sensitive parts — with 70 kHz hand units available for the most delicate work.

Rinco generators and OEM modules also integrate into OEM equipment wherever controlled ultrasonic energy is part of the product itself.

Typical applications

  • Device housings and enclosures
  • PCB staking and standoffs
  • Cable tidy and connector welding
  • Battery and sensor encapsulation
  • OEM ultrasonic integration
Ultrasonic welding in household & applianceIND-07

Household & Appliance

High-volume, good-looking joints for appliances, housewares and consumer products.

Consumer products live and die on finish and cost. Ultrasonic welding gives invisible joints at production line speed — no fasteners to buy, no adhesive to apply and cure, no marks on visible surfaces when tooling is designed right.

From kettle housings to spray heads, storage products and toys, Rinco presses and actuators handle the volume while Techspan's local tooling support keeps changeovers quick.

Typical applications

  • Appliance housings and filters
  • Kitchen and storage products
  • Toys and leisure goods
  • Spray heads and closures
  • Point-of-sale assemblies
Ultrasonic welding in cosmeticsIND-08

Cosmetics

Flawless finishes for compacts, tubes and applicators — welded, sealed and cut without a visible mark.

Cosmetics packaging is judged in the hand: joints must be invisible and surfaces flawless. Ultrasonic welding assembles compacts, lipstick mechanisms, applicators and closures without marring class-A surfaces, and seals filled tubes cleanly through product contamination.

Rinco's precise amplitude control and custom Swiss tooling deliver the finish quality premium brands specify.

Typical applications

  • Compacts and closures
  • Tube sealing after filling
  • Applicators and mechanisms
  • Sample sachets
  • Display and POS assembly
